Shirley MacLaine vs. Warren Beatty

In 1979, Shirley MacLaine presented the Best Actress Oscar with Richard Dreyfuss. Before she gave the statue to Jane Fonda for "Coming Home," she decided to make her brother Warren Beatty feel "better" about losing Best Actor for "Heaven Can Wait." MacLaine's deliciously sisterly barb was this: "I want to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of my little brother - my dear, sweet, talented brother. Just imagine what you could accomplish if you tried celibacy!" The cameras of course zoomed in on Beatty, catching his mortification at being teased about his decades of womanizing. But the cameras also caught his even more embarrassed date, Diane Keaton, in the crossfire. Uncool, Ms. MacLaine. You're going to be punished in your next life for that.
