You’d-know-him-if-you-saw-him guy John Hawkes puts in an amazing performance in this comedy-drama about a severely disabled man seeking the help of a sex therapist (Helen Hunt). He was nominated for Best Supporting actor for A Winter’s Bone and this may be his time for Best Actor. Hunt has an outside chance for Best Supporting Actress and Ben Lewis’s screenplay may gain a Best Adapted Screenplay nod – it was inspired by an article by the real-life subject, Mark O’Brien.
