Les Miserables
At the time of writing, Les Mis hadn’t yet screened to critics or awards voters, so it’s a hard one to gauge. But it potentially ticks a lot of Academy-friendly boxes as a serious, star-studded musical directed by Tom Hooper of The King’s Speech fame. If it’s any good, Hooper could be in the frame for Best Director, plus the film for Best Picture and stars Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway could show up in the Acting categories.
