Mary's cheerful and friendly personality helped her gain popularity amongst the listeners. She was voted the Friendliest DJ in Golden Mike Awards in 2002 and for two consecutive years (2003 & 2004), she was named the Most Popular DJ by the weekly publication, Friday Weekly. At the Singapore Radio Awards, she was again voted y.e.s. 933 fm's Friendliest DJ in 2005 and 2007.
Eager to try new things, she branched into television hosting and acting. She also wrote a book sharing her travel experiences. The positive feedback from the book has made her a favourite for travel and photography related events.
Being effectively bilingual, Mary has hosted numerous corporate functions, media launches, press conferences and charity shows. This includes the launch of the Speak Good English Movement, and the President Star Charity show. Mary has also been one of the icons for Speak Good English Movement 2005. Having a bright, cheery yet versatile voice, Mary has been the voice behind many commercials. She was also seen on TVCs for Chan Brothers Travel Fair.
