Ms Photogenic, and winner of Star Search '93, Singapore's bi-annual talent search, Ivy's popularity with viewers was affirmed when she won the Most Popular Female Newcomer Award in Star Awards, an annual award ceremony for TV personalities, when it was first inaugurated in 1994. A year after, she was voted Top 5 Most Popular Female Artistes.
Shedding her clean-cut image, Ivy played opposite seasoned Hong Kong actor, Damian Lau to portray a vampish and sultry dance hostess in the tele-movie <Sea Eagle> in 1995. She went on to act opposite Lau Kar Leung, a well-known Hong Kong martial arts actor-cum-director in <Kungfu Master> 1996.
To date, Ivy has played the female lead role in numerous TV dramas and has become a local household name. Her convincing performance in <Angel's Dream> won her the Best Actress Award in Star Awards 2000.
Besides acting, Ivy is also highly sought after for endorsement of commercial products. She is one of the spokespersons for the Omega watch. In between her hectic filming schedules, the homely Ivy loves nothing more than spending an afternoon at home reading comics or drawing.
