Michelle currently hosts the prime-time evening drive time belt The X and M Show on 938LIVE, weekdays from 5pm - 9pm. Passionate about literacy she produces a daily on-air programme "Talking Books" which features book news, reviews and interviews of the literati.

Both the listening audience and members of the professional media have responded to Michelle Martin's work as a producer and presenter. For excellence in broadcasting and journalism Michelle won two awards at the Inaugural MediaCorp News Awards bagging the "Best News/Current Affairs Presenter" for what the judges described as "sharp thinking skills displayed during the hosting of the weekday morning show". Michelle also won an award for Best News Special/Current Affairs Programme for a feature which the judges described as "insightful and well-researched".

A year later at the MediaCorp News Awards, Michelle won the prestigious award for "Story of the Year with Public Participation" for her hard-hitting programme Talkback: The Advanced Medical Directive which the judges described as "a cut above the rest".

Michelle is a familiar voice with the public who voted her to two back-to-back wins at the Singapore Radio awards in which awards are decided purely by listeners' participation. Michelle was named Favourite Radio Personality by listeners who again gave Michelle a win the following year, voting her as Carlsberg Friendliest Radio Personality.

In 2007, Michelle was privileged to have been first appointed as a Reading Ambassador by the National Library Board, a post she has held for several years running. Michelle actively promotes reading and literacy. She has been a Mediator for the National Library Boards "On-Air Bookclub" annually since 2007; a high-profile book club that features held yearly in conjunction with the nationwide Read! Singapore campaign.
