A post diploma graduate, Pei Xuan became the winner of Malaysia Star Search 2003 when she beat hundreds of hopefuls in this talent quest organized by TV3. With a love for performing, she took on numerous acting roles in her home town after the competition.
Her natural flair for acting caught the eyes of MediaCorp producer and landed her first major role in <The Beautiful Scent>《美丽的气味》, a joint collaboration between MediaCorp Singapore and Malaysia’s Media Prima Bhd for broadcast on ntv7. Following the success of this joint production, Pei Xuan made her first cross over to Singapore when she was cast alongside award-winning actor Li Nan Xing in MediaCorp’s 2007 blockbuster serial <The Golden Path>《黄金路》. Her true-to-life portrayal of a stall assistant in a hawker centre made many sit up to take notice of this diamond in the rough.
