22-year-old Sezairi Sezali defeated hot favorite Sylvia Ratonel by garnering 61% of the votes to take home the third season of Singapore Idol crown at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in December 2009.
Musically talented and immensely likeable, Sezairi wowed the 8,000 crowd and awed the judges with his rock-steady take of Aerosmith's "Crazy" and a powerful performance of the Idol song "Touched By Angel" at the Grand Finals.
Sezairi's musicality is one of his biggest assets. His unique song arrangements, impressive guitar-playing and slick vocals, win him accolades with the judges and earn him the label "The Original Artist" in his Idol path.
Following his crowning, Sezairi also won a management contract with MediaCorp and a recording contract with Universal Music Group. "Touched By An Angel" was released as a single and debuted at number 16 position on the 987FM Top 20 Chart. His smooth rendition of the winning song certainly touched the nation's heart and soul.
Sezairi's much anticipated debut album "Take Two" was released in June 2010 with rave reviews of the album in various press and magazines. He also performed at the Padang for Singapore National Day Parade the same year.
Sezairi attempted his first hosting gig when he flew into LA to interview the cast and director of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. He even won the applause of those present when he serenaded Kristen Stewart on his ukulele.
