Yao Wen Long came into prominence after participating in Star Search 1993, a bi-annual nationwide talent quest. Within a year of joining the entertainment circuit, this versatile artiste won the Most Popular Newcomer Award in Star Awards 1994, an annual award ceremony for TV personalities.

He is a talented artiste who has starred in a multitude of diverse and challenging roles, he is also often nominated for the Best Supporting Actor category in the annual Star Awards, and winning the trophy in 2001 for his most memorable role as an effeminate hairstylist in Looking For Stars.

His role as the talkative flatmate from Malaysia in the popular sitcom, My Genie also won viewers over in droves. Comedy aside, Wen Long handles drama with as much aplomb as seen in his role as the hen-pecked husband in Vive La Famille - a serial so popular that it returned to the screen with a sequel in 2003.

To date, Wen Long has acted in more than 50 dramas including the award-winning blockbuster serial The Little Nyonya and the long-running drama Your Hand In Mine (180 episodes) in 2009/10.
