A bountiful 2013 for Julian Cheung
Riding high on the success of his latest role in TVB drama series Triumph in the Skies II, lead actor Julian Cheung recently announced his collaboration with new management company, China 3D Digital Entertainment. Julian, who signed the contract with the company’s chairman Stephen Shiu Jr on Tuesday, also took the opportunity to confirm his renewal with former record company, Neway Star.
According to Hong Kong media reports, Julian was received in great honour. Apart from entering the venue in a luxurious Rolls Royce, a helicopter was prepared for the singer-actor to circle the perimeters of Hong Kong’s Kai Tak airport, as an auspicious gesture and to wish Julian a wonderful start with the company.
Moreover, word has it that Julian has received over HK$50 million (approximately S$8.18 million) as contract fee which in turn helped to raise the company’s shares to a record-breaking amount of HK$ 170 million (approximately S$28 million).
During a phone interview with reporters, the recently turned 42 (on August 27) Julian brushed off talks about his pay but said happily, “Well, I guess I’m a lucky chap!”
