A-Mei accused of playing diva

The Taiwanese songstress was criticized for being late at the rehearsals for the countdown show in Taipei

Taiwanese superstar A-Mei, who was the finale act for TVBS Countdown Party in Taipei last night, was slammed by the media for playing diva after showing up three hours late at the rehearsals.

The run-through was scheduled to start at 1pm on Thursday but A-Mei only appeared much later, which infuriated the reporters who had been waiting in the cold. To make things worse, all interview requests were rejected due to miscommunication, which added fuel to the ‘diva rumours’.

However, the production team later clarified that the delay was due to an issue with the stage construction and A-Mei’s manager expressed her helplessness about the incident as the singer herself had to wait for a long time in the low winter temperatures.
