Good things come in 5s, 10s and 20s. As a prelude to the 20th Star Awards ceremony and the biggest awards show happening in town this April, some of TV’s most well-loved personalities were invited to participate in a very special commemorative photoshoot.
This behemoth star-studded project, which costs a whooping S$60,000, is still in-the-works and involves a total of 46 former and current MediaCorp artistes who were past winners from the six main Star Awards categories (Best Actor and Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Actress, Best Variety Host and Best Info-Ed host).
Apart from Caldecott Hill’s Ah Ges and Ah Jies (Zoe Tay, Fann Wong, Christopher Lee), a crop of younger and established actresses (Jeanette Aw, Rui En), and evergreen actors (Zhu Hou Ren, Zhu Xiu Feng and Li Yin Zhu), you can expect to see the likes of former showbiz luminaries such as Huang Biren and Sharon Au in this photoshoot too.
On Wednesday afternoon, we caught up with a bunch of seasoned actors and hosts who have been around showbiz for at least 15 years. While most of these faces are not regularly seen on TV these days, you’d see them make special guest-starring appearances or act in one or two local shows on a yearly basis. We take a trip down memory lane with Li Nan Xing, Constance Song, Patricia Mok, Carole Lin, Chew Chor Meng and Mark Lee on some of their most memorable Star Awards moments and wins.
