Veteran Hong Kong actress Ada Choi ‘s husband Max Tan appears to be taking a leaf out of fellow actor Nick Cheung’s book, whose wife Esther Kwan left showbiz to take care of her daughter.

Rumour has it that Max had managed to convince Ada to slowly make her exit from showbiz to focus on taking care of their daughters and try for a third child recently. For a long time to come, the popular actress overshadowed her husband career-wise, and Max has been accused of being dependent on his wife to bring home the bacon.

But his career appeared to have taken a turn for the better after he won the Best Supporting Actor at the 33rd Hong Kong Film Awards for his role in Chinese blockbuster The Grandmaster. He has been approached by quite a number of film directors for acting roles and has also been invited to take part in several endorsements.

Sources revealed that this has prompted him to be more confident of his career. To become the breadwinner at home, Max allegedly requested for his wife to let her career take a backseat and focus on caring for the family and her apparel business.

Although Max has expressed that he does not need a son, sources revealed that he had always wanted Ada to take back her decision to stop giving birth until they have a baby boy.

The couple appeared to have reached a consensus, as not long ago, Ada posted on Weibo: “Will work hard to do my duty as Mrs Zhang”, hinting that she may place more focus on her family from then on.
