Are Stephen Fung and Shu Qi married?
According to media reports, rumoured lovebirds Stephen Fung and Shu Qi registered their marriage several months ago in the United States. Word got around when the director let slip of his marriage while speaking to the production crew in China.
Sources claimed that the wedding rumour is true and said, “I am 100% sure, but only one of them wishes to go public [about their marriage]. In the end, they reached a mutual agreement and until now, they have not announced the news.”
Although Shu Qi denied the speculations via her manager, many believed that “Mrs. Fung” is in a state of marital bliss through her recent microblog updates. She once wrote: “To people who love me and whom I love, the most important thing to be happy.”
Last December, the actress also published a heartfelt post on her microblog which led to numerous speculations: “In the past, you didn’t know me nor did you understand me, and we kept missing out on each other because we didn’t know how to treasure the relationship,” she said. “If you still feel for me when the dawn comes, and if there’s a chance to start over again, we must not have regrets again, my dear.”
Stephen Fung and Shu Qi were rumoured to be dating after they collaborated on the movie Bishonen in 1997, and both of them were subsequently romantically linked to other people. Talks became rife that the rumoured couple reunited after Stephen broke up with singer-actress Vivian Hsu in 2010.
The pair was spotted travelling to Tokyo together in July last year, and Shu Qi reportedly flew to Beijing during a filming break just to meet up with her beau who was promoting Taichi II in China last October.
