Vic Chou: I’m not friends with Mark Chao
The Taiwanese actor reaffirmed his hostile relationship with rival, Mark Chao during the Golden Bell Awards on Friday.
Taiwanese actor Vic Chou was crowned Best Leading Actor in the 48th Golden Bell Awards for his role in television drama, Home, last Friday. However, his win has since sparked comparisons to his rival, Taiwanese actor Mark Chao.
The once-brotherly friendship between the two reportedly turned sour after Mark won the Best Leading Actor trophy for drama, Black and White, in 2009, instead of his co-star Vic, who was then the hot favourite to take home the award.
During an interview with reporters after the award ceremony held in Taipei, Vic candidly revealed, “We are not in contact with one another and have since gone separate ways. It’s true to say that we’re indeed not friends.”
Even so, when asked if he would still collaborate with Mark, the 32-year-old said, “I’m not ruling out the possibility (of working together) if there is a good script and I still wish him all the best in his career.”
After clinching top honours in his acting career, Vic was probed if marriage with girlfriend, Reen Yu, will be his next achievement in life. In response, the newly-crowned leading actor shook his head and retorted, “Well, my career has just taken flight so I’m not thinking about marriage at the moment.”
