Elva Hsiao, 30 Hour Famine's ambassador.

The romantic speculations around Elva Hsiao and Nick Chou might soon become a fact.

Responding to queries for the first time last week during a promotional event for World Vision's 30 Hour Famine, Taiwan's pop diva Elva called Nick and herself "good friends".

Without closing the door on further development between them, she added she would "let nature take its course".

Elva, the ambassador for the 30 Hour Famine, will visit Kenya next month, but the media's focus during the event inevitably fell on rumours of her and former singer Billy Chou's 21-year-old son.

Finding him filial, honest and talented, Elva, 30, praised, "He really knows how to treat a girl. His mum has taught him very well."

New singer Nick, on the other hand, is without doubt enjoying the windfall. His appearance at a Shu Uemura event last week earned him NT$300,000 (S$13,000), an incredibly high fee for a relative unknown.

When asked, he also seconded his rumoured lover, "The future is hard to predict."
