Ever imagined what your favourite artistes were like back in their school days?
MediaCorp actor Desmond Tan took a trip down memory lane when he returned to his alma mater, Pioneer Secondary School, last Friday. Attending the school’s graduation ceremony as a guest, the 26-year-old felt especially “grown up” and heartened to see familiar faces (such as his Physics teacher and the cleaner aunties) in this place where he spent the best four years of his teenage life.
It was the first time in six years that the busy actor has stepped into the school, and it is little wonder why he was washed over by a huge sense of nostalgia during the visit.
While speaking to xinmsn over a phone interview, Desmond shared that he was actually surprised and very humbled to be invited since “guests-of-honour are usually ministers”.
Like adults would tell their children, “No matter how much you think you hate school, you will always miss it when you leave.”
For Desmond, in fact, his secondary school hosted some of the most vivid memories of his growing years.
So, what does he miss most about being a student?
“The less stressful lifestyle. It was an important period of time for me, as it was then that I met some of my closest friends whom I still depend on now,” he shared.
