Bobby Au-Yeung’s condition improves after three days in ICU
"His condition is much better now," said Bobby Au-Yeung's wife, Rosanna Fu at the hospital today.
It was a worrisome Chinese New Year for Rosanna after her actor husband collapsed due to Pneumonia (inflammatory condition of the lungs) during a dinner gathering on Monday night. Bobby was rushed to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) soon after.
According to Rosanna, although the 52-year-old reportedly slipped into a coma at one point, he has since regained consciousness and is "able to talk" currently.
She shared with a faint smile, "[Bobby] told me not to worry, he's doing well. He only gets drowsy easily after the medications."
However, Bobby needs to be intubated and remain under observation for two more days before he could be transferred out of ICU.
Meanwhile, his manager Lydia has once again clarified rumours claiming that the Hong Kong veteran actor had ingested too much alcohol during the gathering, resulting in his collapse.
She stressed, "It had nothing to do with alcohol. Bobby got choked while eating and had a bacterial infection."
Well-known for his bubbly and amicable personality, many celebrity friends such as Charmaine Sheh, Kenneth Ma, Kenix Kwok, Joe Ma and Nancy Sit have also expressed their concern over their microblog update.
