Fans of DC Comics book Green Arrow, rejoice! The action-adventure comic book about an arrow-wielding crime-fighter has been a runaway hit in the United States, attracting 4.14 million viewers in its debut episode.
Now, the vigilante series is making its debut in Singapore and actor Byron Mann spoke exclusively with xinmsn on December 17, 2012, at Heat Ultralounge in Royal Plaza on Scotts about his character in the series. Byron plays Yao Fei, an archer who lead role Oliver Queen (played by Stephen Amell) meets after he is stranded on an island following a ship accident.
A series of mysterious encounters soon follow as the two strangers try to get to know each other and their motivations. Byron lets us in on a secret: he and Stephen Amell share the same chemistry off-camera. “We are friendly, very polite and nurturing to each other but we keep a certain mystery between us so that we can reflect that energy on camera.”
“Let’s just say that Stephen and I don’t call each other at 12 midnight to share our deepest, darkest secrets,” Byron laughed heartily. He spoke about having only one hour to practice archery from the Canadian Olympic team before shooting ’15 arrows in 30 seconds’ on set in the woods of Vancouver. When asked if he has archery background, Byron retorted, “Who shoots arrows in the day?”
