Hong Kong actress Carina Lau may be a superstar in her own right, but she was reportedly stopped at a Beijing airport for security checks when she went through the standard customs route.

As a star, she normally enjoys the privilege of going through the VIP route at the airport, but she reportedly chose to take the standard route when travelling back to Hong Kong from Beijing.

Carina was reportedly in a good mood while travelling with her assistant. However, she was stopped at the customs, where she was requested to remove her accessories. She was also subjected to scans from a metal detector.

Her luggage was reportedly opened, with customs officers scrutinizing its content. They are believed to have confiscated a box that reportedly contained liquid medication.

Her company has responded to the rumours, declaring, “Carina hasn’t been to Beijing recently. Neither has she had any items confiscated at the airport – these are rumours.”
