Celebrities bid last farewell to Yang Deng Kui
Famous Taiwan film and television tycoon Yang Deng Kui, 74, suffered from a stroke and passed away on December 31.
Many Taiwanese artistes and celebrity pals attended his farewell ceremony and bade him a tearful final goodbye yesterday.
Ella Chen, who made a low-key entrance early in the morning, appeared solemn and wore shades to cover her swollen eyes as a result from crying. Ella became acquainted with Deng Kui when she filmed for the movie Perfect Two.
Veteran host Zhang Xiao Yan could not hold back her tears and broke down when she recalled his efforts to support the younger generation and let them shine in the showbiz industry.
Although both of them have never worked together before, Xiao Yan commented Deng Kui was like a "big brother who always kept to his promise".
Deng Kui's management company revealed his good friends will be holding a memorial concert on January 28. His son, Yang Zhong Xian, singer Jody Chiang and many other artistes will also be performing on that day.
