Chang Chen confirms proposal rumours

At a fan-meeting event for the blockbuster film The Grandmaster in Beijing over the weekend, Taiwanese actor Chang Chen confirmed earlier speculations that he had asked for his girlfriend Ann’s hand in marriage. However, the 36-year-old clarified that they are currently not engaged.

His co-star, Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi, seemed especially emotional after hearing about the news.

Speaking on their long-time friendship, she said, “I feel really happy that we had the chance to interact during promotional activities because everyone moves on with their lives eventually.”

“In future, Chang Chen will be busy with his personal life,” she added.

Her statement aroused suspicions that the actor might be withdrawing from the limelight after getting married. Shocked by Ziyi’s comments, the actor quickly stopped her from continuing and exclaimed, “We don’t need to go into details!”
