Charmaine Sheh gets chummy with male actors at party
Hong Kong veteran actor Michael Miu organised a private party last Friday to celebrate his wife, actress Jaime Chik's 50th birthday and their 22nd wedding anniversary.
Charmaine Sheh, who was present to share the couple's joy at the party, was accused by the tabloids of "flirting" with male guests, after she was seen conversing and joking with Raymond Lam and three married actors Hu Jun, Michael Tse and Joe Ma.
According to the reports, the actress appeared to be closest to Hu Jun after the duo was sighted whispering into each other's ears. The latter also placed his arms around her shoulders and leaned close to her.
Joe reportedly struck up a conversation with his former rumoured girlfriend and even performed a duet with Charmaine; and while playing finger-guessing games with Michael Tse and Raymond, the 37-year-old reportedly became intimate with them and refused to let go of Raymond's hand.
Responding to news reports, Michael Miu and his wife defended the actress and refuted these rumours. Michael vented his anger via his Microblog update, denouncing the tabloids, "Shame on you. You have no respect for other people's feelings. It's so ridiculous to publish such fabricated news!"
On the contrary, Charmaine was unfazed by the accusations and instead asked the couple to put the matter to rest.
Raymond also supported Charmaine on this incident and clarified, "She is my good friend and one of my best onscreen partners. We became so close that I have treated her as a guy long time ago!"
