Chin Kar-lok & Angela Tong welcome 3.3kg baby girl

Hong Kong celebrity couple Chin Kar-lok and Angela Tong welcomed their first child at Hong Kong Canossa Hospital on Mar 10. According to media reports, the actress was admitted to the hospital at 6am on Sunday and delivered the 7.3-pound (approximately 3.3kg) baby girl naturally at noon.

While speaking to the media, Kar-lok revealed that the newborn, who was initially due one week later, has been named Alyssa and her Chinese name will be decided by her grandfather. When asked if the baby resembles dad or mum, the actor commented that there are mixed opinions regarding this question.

Although Kar-lok originally did not intend to enter the delivery suite, Angela said that the first-time daddy eventually chose to accompany her throughout the process, guiding her in the breathing and pushing techniques. He also personally cut their daughter’s umbilical cord while shedding tears of joy.

Planning to reduce her work load after giving birth, Angela also mentioned that she will be breastfeeding Alyssa for the first six months, and that the couple intends to go on a round-the-world trip this year.

The longtime couple held their wedding at Hong Kong Ocean Park last November.
