Hong Kong superstar Chow Yun Fat was recently in town, along with Director Wong Jing, Producer Andrew Lau, and the main cast of The Last Tycoon, for the film's world premiere in Singapore to kick off the annual movie festival ScreenSingapore 2012.
During the press conference held at Marina Bay Sands on Tuesday, the charismatic 57-year-old displayed good humour with his witty replies, which delighted everyone in the room. Chow even found a kindred spirit in a xinmsn reporter, who was the first to direct a question to him in Cantonese, which is apparently his preferred language.
"While the veteran actor plays a fiercely loyal and devoted character in the new production, how does he show his love to his wife in real life?" xinmsn asked.
"While hearing you speak Cantonese, I will look at you affectionately," he said, squeezing his eyes playfully at the reporter. "I'm so happy!"
The room roared with laughter.
He continued, "It's going to take days to talk about this. There are so many different kinds of love. The love I have with my wife is different from the love I have with you, you understand?"
Chortles filled the room again.
