The international film star asked for a xinmsn reporter’s name card during the press conference of The Last Tycoon and conducted an exclusive phone interview with us
While the rest of the cast who attended the press conference expressed their pressure when they met Chow, it was even more stressful for him as a veteran actor. He was anxious that his less-than-perfect mandarin would affect his partners' performance.
"They weren't aware of the pressure they gave me because I still smiled at them. But inside, I really was trembling and worrying about my pronounciation."
Behind the banter, Chow's years of experience and wisdom showed through his speech and mannerism. Although many questions regarding his acting skills were thrown to him, Chow was quick to share the limelight with his lesser known co-stars and never did once claim praise on himself.
ScreenSingapore 2012 is held over four days, from December 4 to 7.
The Last Tycoon opens in cinemas January 3 next year.
