Foreign stars and local celebrities dazzled the red carpet at world premiere of The Last Tycoon
Persistent rain may have threatened to call off the red carpet event at Shaw Lido for the world premiere of The Last Tycoon on Tuesday night, but the drizzle eventually subsided and lines started forming as many were excited to see the various screen stars up-close in person.
Albeit the delay, the fans' patience paid off when the stars showed up dressed for the occasion.
Taking the baton from international star Zhang Ziyi, Taiwanese starlet Weng Tzymann was selected as the ambassador for this year's ScreenSingapore and she turned up in a stunning dress that showed off her good figure. It was a breakthrough for the 26-year-old who confessed that she felt "very shy" about the cleavage-revealing outfit.
Local celebrities such as Irene Ang, Bobby Tonelli, George Young, Dai Yang Tian, Kate Pang, Richard Low, Priscelia Chan, Pan Ling Ling, Huang Shi Nan, Mark Lee, Romeo Tan, Jeffrey Xu, Ian Fang, Edwin Goh, Zhang Zhen Huan and Jayley Woo, also geared up for the night.
On top of that, Jack Neo brought along his "army boys" from his latest self-directed film Ah Boys to Men, which has been a box office hit.
Besides Director Wong Jing, Producer Andrew Lau and the main cast of The Last Tycoon, including Yolanda Yuen, Joyce Feng, Gao Hu and Xin Bai Qing, Hong Kong actress Kathy Zhou Hai Mei and Taiwanese rising stars Kai Ko and Guo Shu Yao (Yao Yao) also graced the red carpet. The pair was in town to promote their new movie When A Wolf Falls In Love With A Sheep.
Chow Yun Fat made the grandest entrance, welcomed by loud cheers as he walked the red carpet with his wife Jasmine Tan. Though they were last to arrive, the loving couple was especially friendly and generous with their smiles. The superstar even stopped several times during the walk to sign autographs for his fans.
