The star-studded affair last night saw overseas artistes Wakin Chau, Elisa Chan and Valen Hsu belt out their evergreen classics and MediaCorp stars perform stunts and dances. Hong Kong celebrity Charlie Young was the Honorary Adviser for the show while former actress Wong Li-Lin was appointed the Community Chest Ambassador. Hosted by Guo Liang, Quan Yi Fong and Youyi, this year’s show is a lead-up to the SG50 celebration under the Care & Share movement.

Held for the first time at the Resorts World Sentosa Theatre, it was refreshing to see corporate and organisations, beneficiaries and artistes perform together throughout the 3-hour show. A lively dance collaboration by SingTel dancers and Tanglin School students to the hit song ‘What Does the Fox Say?’ started the night on a high.

Then came a 90-member orchestra performance featuring members of several beneficiaries and local actresses Jayley Woo and Priscelia Chan on the guzheng and Malay traditional drum respectively. The audience was treated to energetic shouts from the Chinese percussion, soothing melodies from the guzheng, Angklung and ukulele followed by vigorous drum beats, a unique musical combination indeed.
