Daniel Chan ignores shotgun wedding rumours
After news broke that Hong Kong singer Daniel Chan will tie the knot tonight at Sky Dining 101 (the 101st floor) of the International Commerce Centre in Hong Kong, he was bombarded with media queries if his girlfriend is pregnant, a rumour that has surfaced for some time.
He did not respond to the rumours, but said that it has only been a day since he announced his wedding, so preparations are very rushed and he thanked everyone for their blessings.
Daniel revealed that his fiancée, Wang Yuxian, a Taiwanese nurse 12 years his junior, has been down with high fever since they returned from their Dubai holiday, and hopes that she will be well enough tonight. The couple has been dating for nine months.
As the couple already had held an engagement dinner in Taiwan with Yuxian’s family earlier, guests invited to the wedding dinner tonight are Daniel’s family members and friends.
The high-end restaurant is set up by Hong Kong celebrity chef Huang Yongzhi, and banquet prices range from HK$9,988 to HK$16,988 (approximately S$1,630 to S$2,774) per table. A wedding banquet would cost nearly HK$170,000 (approximately S$27,7000).
Daniel even took time out to accompany his fiancée to Tsim Sha Tsui last night to try on her evening gown. She tried on a red qi pao and a cream-coloured gown, and the couple was seen leaving the boutique 30 minutes later.
