Daniel Wu: I am going to be a father

Hong Kong artiste Daniel Wu confirmed his wife, Lisa S.’s pregnancy yesterday, announcing the happy news via his microblog. The 38-year-old is especially thrilled as he had always wanted to be a father.

He wrote: ”To all friends, fans and the media, I’d like to announce that my beautiful wife Lisa S. is expecting and we thank everyone for the concern and blessings thus far.”

Daniel added that both of them are very excited to enter a new stage in life together and that they are looking forward to welcome their first child next June.

Lisa S. published a similar statement shortly after Daniel’s post.

Fellow celebrities, such as Hong Kong actor-director Stephen Fung and his rumoured girlfriend Shu Qi, expressed their well wishes by re-posting the announcement. Fans also offered their blessings, leaving more than 50,000 comments on the post.

The celebrity couple had been trying for a baby since tying the knot in 2010 and they had reportedly contemplated artificial insemination previously. Their hopes for a natural conception were realised when Lisa S. was confirmed to be pregnant.
