Desmond Tan attacked by Golden Retriever on New Year’s Day

Desmond Tan had the most dramatic and unexpected start to 2013 when he spent hours at Alexandra hospital treating his nose injury instead of ushering the New Year with his group of friends.

The local actor, who swung by his friend's apartment after performing at Ch8's New Year countdown concert that night, got bitten by a friend's Golden Retriever.

Recalling the incident over a phone interview with xinmsn, he said, "I was stroking my friend's Golden Retriever when it suddenly dashed into my face and attacked my nose."

He felt a painful sensation and finally decided to make a trip to the hospital after he realised that his nose injury was bleeding profusely.

"It's quite embarrassing to enter A&E (Accident & Emergency) at 4a.m. just because of a dog bite!" he exclaimed.

Instead of being worried that the deep wound might leave scars on his face, Desmond was more concerned over delaying his ongoing work schedules due to his injuries. He only rested at home for a day and promptly resumed filming for his upcoming web drama 96°C Café yesterday.

The 27-year-old, who is a self-professed workaholic also mentioned he would still proceed to travel to Japan for a commercial shoot this month, and plans to conceal his injury with "make-up".
