Desmond Tan: I draw inspiration from my girlfriend
“I’m like a long black or espresso; you may find it bitter when you first drink it. However, the more you drink it, the more you appreciate it,” Desmond Tan declared at his imaging session for upcoming xinmsn web-drama 96°C Café. Slated to broadcast in February 2013, the web drama will later be repackaged and developed further for Channel 8 in April.
Though the MediaCorp actor will play the boss of a coffee house in the drama, he confessed to xinmsn that he knows nothing about making coffee -- so the hands-on coffee making crash course that the cast will be put through before filming starts will be “very useful”.
Desmond revealed that he hopes to have a café on the beach one day, though he would “not collaborate with loved ones, because talking shop may lead to the relationship breaking down.”
“Though it seems very far-off, (I think I) can do it one day," he mused.
The 26-year-old recently wrapped up Channel 8 drama Poetic Justice and dived headfirst into 96°C Café. Despite scurrying around to change into his numerous outfits for the imaging session, Desmond took time to sit down with producers to discuss drama-related manners – a sure sign of his dedication to his work.
