The finale of Channel 8’s 9pm drama Don’t Stop Believin’ made history by crossing the million-viewer mark with an average viewership of 1,047,800. This surpasses Joys of Life’s finale viewership of 993,000, showcasing the ever-increasing popularity of local TV.

The show wrapped up with a heartbreaking finale as Kimberly Chia’s character, Deng Yi Lin, died of kidney cancer.

The cast members attended Sunday’s MediaCorp Ch8 30th Drama Anniversary and put up a rousing performance of Korean star PSY’s viral hit ‘Gangnam Style’ to thank their fans for their overwhelming support.

Reel-life couple Cavin Soh and Constance Song had previously pledged to perform a secret item should the drama’s viewership hit the million-mark. Though they have yet to announce when and where they will be fulfilling their promise, fans are looking forward to more interaction between the happy on-screen couple.
