Eric Tsang gets arrested over dispute with restaurateur
Eric Tsang was accused of slapping Kenny Wong, restaurant owner and husband to Hong Kong actress Suki Tsui, at a wedding dinner earlier this month.
The Hong Kong police have confirmed that they arrested "a 59-year-old Mr Tsang to assist with investigations regarding a common assault and criminal intimidation case yesterday". It was also revealed Eric is currently on bail and has to report to the police again in mid-January next year.
The veteran artiste initially kept mum after stepping out of the police station, but he later expressed with a faint smile, "I am just helping out with police's investigations."
Eric also maintained that he would not be affected by the matter and has even organized an "End of the World" party with celebrity friends tonight.
On the other hand, Kenny mentioned he was "unaware" of Eric's arrest and refused to comment any further.
The actor-host got embroiled in a dispute with Kenny after he was furious with the latter's accusations on the 23 Hong Kong artistes who were involved in a "drug party" at his restaurant last year. Kenny also declared that he had a video clip as proof of evidence.
Eric, who was drunk at the wedding dinner, allegedly told Kenny not to hand over the video clip to the police and slapped his face. Kenny immediately reported the incident to the police and proceeded to the hospital with his wife to examine his injuries.
