Fresh-faced Taiwanese singer Kimberley Chen visited Singapore recently to promote her self-titled debut album called Kimberley Chen.

Born and raised in Melbourne, the 18-year-old first came into the limelight after being part of the popular TV program Super Star Avenue in 2010. She let on in the interview with xinmsn that while her first language is English, she is "very confident speaking in Chinese as well."

New to the music scene, the rookie singer penned her own lyrics -- for the first time -- in 'Never Change', an English track from her debut album.

"It was a spur-of-the-moment composition. I was at my composer's house and it was raining while I was leaving. I didn't want to get drenched and so we began to sing. He played the melody of the track while I jolted down some lyrics and that was how the song came about. It was done within 15 minutes and we recorded the song on first attempt."
