It’s all about being at the right place at the right time. And that’s definitely the case for Star Search 2007 contestant Desmond Tan, who chose to continue his studies while his mates like Andie Chen and Koh Ya Hui were making headways in showbiz after the talent competition.  For a while, the 26-year-old was afraid he would be forgotten but thankfully, his breakout role came in the form of rickshaw puller “Xiao Xiao” in Ch8’s A Song To Remember last year after his graduation, which eventually landed him the Rocket Award at Star Awards this year.

His recent works include Ch8’s Poetic Justice where he plays a lovelorn lawyer and will be seen next alongside Julie Tan and Chantalle Ng in xinmsn’s upcoming web drama series 96°C Café in February.

His acting may not be top-notch and he’s still a distance away from the ranks of Caldecott Hill’s A-listers but something tells us Desmond Tan’s fortune and popularity is about to soar.
