Faye Wong is determined to become a nun?
Rumours about Faye Wong’s intentions to become a nun are further fuelled by reports that claimed the recently divorced singer has taken on the task instructed by an eminent monk earlier this year – to kowtow 100,000 times at different temples within three months.
On her birthday last month, Faye posted a photo of her pilgrimage trip to Tibet on her microblog. The picture showed the 44-year-old’s red and swollen forehead from performing the kowtow ritual.
Sources revealed that Faye became a Buddhist for her daughter Li Yan, who was born with a congenital cleft lip. According to an insider, the songstress became even more religious after problems started surfacing in her relationship with her ex-husband Li Yapeng. Faye also allegedly made frequent trips to India to meet with eminent monks, seeking solace by writing Buddhist sutras.
Also, Faye reportedly flew to Hong Kong on Sep 6 to deal with her remaining properties in the country. It is believed that the singer plans to keep the total earnings worth HK$38 million (approximately S$6.17 million) made from the sales of her Hong Kong properties as funds for her two daughters.
