Faye Wong receives public declaration of love from husband

Chinese pop diva Faye Wong and husband, Chinese actor Li Yapeng attended a jewellery function in Yunnan last Friday.

Complementing the "token of love" theme that night, Yapeng specially presented a custom made three-carat diamond ring in the shape of an Eiffel Tower to Faye.

"I have never given her [Faye] a ring before despite having known each other for nine years. She likes Paris very much and always regards Paris as her home," Yapeng explained the meaning behind his gift.

Faye, though appeared embarrassed at her husband's public romantic gesture, smiled shyly and accepted the ring.

While friends were touched by Yapeng's love for Faye, they also joked that he chose an Eiffel Tower shaped diamond ring because Eiffel had the same pronunciation as "Love Faye (Ai Fei)" in Chinese.

Yapeng's declaration of love has also indirectly refuted divorce rumours when past intimate photos of Faye and ex-boyfriend, Nicholas Tse was leaked online.
