After a shocking divorce with actor-director husband, Li Yapeng, last Friday, the Chinese songbird Faye Wong was said to be in the midst of planning a pilgrimage to India to seek spiritual guidance from the Karmapa (head of a Tibetan Buddhism school).

According to an insider, Faye has been keeping a religious lifestyle since her divorce. Besides reciting Buddhist scriptures in the early mornings, the 44-year-old makes it a point to sleep before ten each night to maintain inner peace. This revelation further led members of the public to believe in earlier media reports claiming that Faye wanted to be a nun.

While speaking to reporters at a promotional event on Sunday, Faye’s showbiz best friend and personal make-up artist, Zing, was astonished by the rumour. “What did you say? Faye intends to be a nun? Absolutely impossible, the person who came up with this is crazy!” he exclaimed.

Likewise, Faye’s manager dismissed the rumour and added, “Although there are no plans yet, Faye has never said anything about quitting showbiz to be a nun.”
