Former Hong Kong singer Vivian Lai divorces Goldlion CEO
Former Hong Kong singer Vivian Lai's high profile marriage with Tsang Chiming, the CEO of Hong Kong high end men’s apparel brand Goldlion, has been on the rocks since last December. It is said that as he is often away for work, he had an affair with a 20-year-old woman, and after many years, Vivian finally decided to leave the family with their two children.
It was only when her father-in-law, Goldlion Group Chairman Tsang Hinchi interfered and called his son back to Hong Kong that she decided to move back to the family home. But Chiming appeared unaffected by his wife and children’s departure, giving Vivian more conviction to move out again for real.
This time during Chinese New Year, she sent their children to her in-laws for a short visit, but did not stay to visit herself.
Rumour has it that Chiming told a friend that they are going through a divorce and are preparing for the separation proceedings. Vivian, who is prudent in her expenditure since her marriage in 2002, is said to be able to get HK$1 million (S$163,000) in maintenance monthly.
It was also said that Vivian’s mother-in-law was not too happy with the fact that her daughter-in-law hails from showbiz, but her attitude mellowed after the grandchildren were born. With Vivian’s marriage on the rocks now, her mother-in-law has maintained the stance that her son Chiming has always been a good husband to her friends.
