Fifteen-year-old Greyson Chance may be young, but has proven to be a name to watch with his serious approach to music-making. The singer-songwriter was discovered after his cover video of Lady Gaga’s ‘Paparazzi’ caught the eye of Ellen DeGeneres who signed him on to her label eleveneleven. The rest, as they say, is history.
With a handful of singles, one studio album and most recently, an EP, Greyson is well on his way to becoming a force to be reckoned with. As a result, the young lad has a mentality that is well beyond his 15 years. In town to perform for MTV Sessions, xinmsn sat down with Greyson to find out if he still has the kid in him.
Lounging on his sofa seat at the Mövenpick Heritage Hotel Sentosa, the cheerful teen was markedly taller than expected – something he attributed to the tricky thing we call puberty. Starting off with something not quite in his repertoire (yet), we asked what he would do if he were a rock star for a day.
“I would wear really tight jeans and put gemstones on my jean jacket – like Bon Jovi”, Greyson chuckled. Later on in the interview, he revealed that he would buy himself “really tight jeans” if he were his stylist despite the fact that he personally “really hates” them.
Visibly excited when asked to envision himself as Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt, Greyson remarked that he would “look in the mirror all day and say, ‘Ah, I’m so attractive’”, patting all corners of his face.
