Guo Jingjing and Kenneth Fok welcome first child
According to Hong Kong media reports, former Chinese Olympic diver Guo Jingjing had a smooth delivery yesterday morning. Although it is unclear whether Jingjing had a natural birth or Caesarean section, her due date was estimated to be around this period.
Her husband Kenneth Fok, who is also the eldest son of Hong Kong tycoon Timothy Fok, shared the good news on his weibo later in the afternoon. He wrote: “Dear friends, Jingjing had a smooth delivery this morning. Both mother and son are healthy; My son weighs 3.3 kilograms. Thank you for all the concern!”
Shortly after his message was posted, Jingjing’s father-in-law Timothy was spotted making a visit to the hospital. Appearing in high spirits, the first-time grandfather was friendly when reporters approached him for an interview.
The good natured tycoon revealed to reporters that his grandson is in good health and has big eyes that resembled his parents. When asked for the name of the child , the 67-year-old gave an enduring smile and responded, “I haven’t decided on a name, but I do have some options in mind.”
Word has it that this highly-anticipated child is now worth HK$200 million (about S$33.1 million) and will be raised in a specially built nursery. Jingjing, on the other hand, was said to have already received HK$100 million (about S$20 million) as part of the child’s education fees.
