Hawick Lau hands out red packets to reporters

The Hong Kong actor gave a token of appreciation to the media at his wedding in Bali

To prepare for their wedding at Bulgari Hotel in Bali today, celebrity couple Yang Mi and Hawick Lau took an afternoon flight from Hong Kong yesterday. At the airport, Hawick’s father, veteran actor Danny Lau gave out red packets – each containing HK$100 (approximately S$16.40) – to the reporters and revealed that he would staying in Bali for three days.

Arriving at the hotel late yesterday night, Hawick also handed out red packets to the reporters who travelled along with them. While speaking to the media, the 39-year-old shared that he is “more nervous” than his wife-to-be.

“I’m worried it would rain [during the wedding]. Hopefully Yang Mi can rest well tonight and I will spend the night making sure that all details are taken care of,” he said.

When asked if he prepared a surprise for the bride, Hawick refused to divulge his plans and simply wished that Yang Mi “would like it”. The Chinese actress, who was spotted wearing a five carat diamond ring at the airport, will reportedly put on jewellery dowry worth S$1.64 million at the wedding.
