Huang Xiao Ming makes first appearance after leg fracture
Despite doctors' advice that Huang Xiao Ming should get six weeks of bed-rest after fracturing his leg, the Chinese actor-model resumed work after a mere 28 days of downtime. The wheelchair-bound entertainer insisted on attending the press conference for his latest movie The Last Tycoon in Shanghai yesterday.
It was his first public appearance after suffering an accident while on set late last month.
The Chinese "number one heartthrob" jokingly expressed that he felt honored to be wheelchair-bound as he could "experience many priorities" while traveling on the high-speed railway from Beijing.
Xiao Ming's co-star, Hong Kong veteran actor Chow Yun-Fat pushed the 35-year-old out during the press conference and even acted as his "nanny" throughout the event.
Yun-Fat shared that he appreciated Xiao Ming's professionalism for attending the event in spite of his injury, quipping to reporters soon after, "Don't worry, he's still alive."
The actor fell from a height of three metres while filming a fighting scene for his new movie, The Bride With White Hair 3D. He suffered from a comminuted fracture in two toes on his left foot.
Xiao Ming underwent an operation on November 23 to insert six intramedullary nail into his fractured toes. His doctor has reportedly advised that he will need at least three months to recover.
