Taiwan`s showbiz stepped up to help victims of Kaohsiung`s deadly gas explosion at a fund raising gala in Taipei, Taiwan, 7 August 2014. More than 50 local stars arrived to offer donations and show their support, including S.H.E, Elva Hsiao, Jam Hsiao and David Tao. Speaking of the tragedy which happened last week and has killed 28 persons and injured hundreds of others, S.H.E`s Selina Jen busted into tears on the stage. David Tao also acted as a telephone operator to receive calls from donors on the site. According to media reports, about NT$2 billion(S$83 million) have been raised from the public since the blast occurred.
