South Korean actress Song Hye Kyo publicly apologized for committing tax evasion at a press conference in Seoul, South Korea, 21 August 2014. In the statement, Song expressed her deep regrets over mishandling her tax between 2009 and 2011 because of ignorance and she takes full responsibility for all punishments. Song was allegedly under-declared her taxable income by around 2.5 million dollars. Even though the actress had paid back all original and additional taxes two years ago, the scandal has triggered public criticisms which might impact the premieres of her new movie "My Brilliant Life" for which Song joined a screening promotion later after her public apology.
