FLY Entertainment's head honcho reveals the agency's future plans as her company celebrates 13 years in the business
One of FLY’s recent high-profile signings this year is Patricia Mok, fresh from having ended her contract with Mediacorp’s Artiste Management Unit. When xinmsn broached the topic to her before the switch, Patricia Mok was visibly upset over the question. However, at the FLY event, she was much more comfortable to share her thoughts on the move.
“I think I was unhappy in the last two years. My contract (at Mediacorp) finished and I wanted to be free and relax. In a twist of events, FLY approached me and I knew Irene for a while. She said to me “Pat, don’t worry, I’ll take care of you.” At least this year, I found back my passion and I didn’t lose the fire in me,” Patricia said.
She is now focusing her efforts on getting back to the theatre scene, with talks of a musical in the pipeline. The change in Patricia Mok is evident: her hair is chopped off into a curly bob and she dresses more ‘provocatively’. (According to her, that is.) Patricia says she doesn’t care what people think of her expressive self.
“When I was at J-Team with Jack Neo, I was already like that. When I went to Mediacorp, because of the Chinese environment, they are more conservative, so you have to play down a lot of things. FLY is more outspoken and I can give my views. When you grow older, you don’t care (about what people say). Just live your life and be happy,” Patricia said.
