Good things are worth waiting for, and that proved to be the case for the legendary Japanese rock band, Luna Sea.
Playing to an incredibly high-energy crowd at The Star Performing Arts Centre last night, Luna Sea lived up to their title as one of the greatest rock bands in Japan with a mesmerising performance that had the fans head-banging to the music throughout the two-hour show.
Local Slaves (official fanclub name) and fans from other Southeast Asian countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia were decked in uniform black outfits, gathering at the concert venue hours before the show.
The packed arena roared alive when the fans jumped out of their seats as soon as Luna Sea appeared on stage, the dedicated crowd never once sat down and kept their hands in the air throughout the concert.
“It’s our first time here in 26 years. Are you ready!” hollered lead singer Ryuichi.
You bet. The excitement in the house was barely containable.
There was no time for temperatures to cool as the show kicked off with “Loveless” and “Déjà vu”. Following up with stunning renditions of “G.”, “End of Sorrow” and “True Blue”, the band showed us why the best way to enjoy rock music is to hear and to perform it “live”. And we have to say, they do it amazingly well.
