Jacky Wu charged for allegedly assaulting undergraduates

Popular Taiwanese host Jacky Wu got into a scuffle with undergraduates after he mistook them for paparazzi.

Jacky Wu and Taiwanese artistes Elva Hsiao, Kai Ko and Cheryl Yang were having supper at a noodle house after celebrating a friend’s birthday in early February when Jacky started arguing with a group of undergraduates at the next table, whom he mistook for the paparazzi.

Both parties threw vulgarities at each other and a fight broke out soon afterward. One of the undergraduates, Chen Yu-feng, was sent to the hospital with a bleeding lip after Jacky punched him in the face.

Jacky also suffered a punch on the nose and a bruised face. Both parties then sued each other for assault.

As they were unable to reach a settlement, Jacky and four undergraduates who were involved in the incident were called in for investigations by the police yesterday.

It later was confirmed that Jacky has been named as the defendant in this assault case and will be summoned to court together with the four undergraduates.

Investigations are ongoing. As eyewitnesses, Elva, Kai and Cheryl will be called in to assist with the proceedings as well.
