Jay Chou’s new restaurant criticised for poor hygiene
Besides the complaints about bad attitude and slow service of waiters and waitresses, the new restaurant of Taiwanese multi-hyphenate Jay Chou was recently questioned for its hygiene quality when a customer reportedly found a piece of plastic in a vegetable dish recently.
The Rooftop movie-themed restaurant is also drawing flak for its pricey menu and dirty cutleries.
The 34-year-old star has yet to make an official response to the bad reviews. Instead, his business partner and friend, Will Liu, has stepped up to clear the air.
“I’m glad that customers have brought up these problems for us to improve on. There will certainly be a revision in our hygiene and working attitude. As for the prices of our food, the restaurant will hold an internal meeting to discuss about it,” Will said.
Rooftop was named after Jay’s second self-directed movie production and opened for business two weeks ago, on August 29.
